| Artist's Books by Toni Hartill |
I’ll be teaching a 5 day workshop at the
Wanaka Autumn Art School, 12 - 16th April, 2027!
The class information for 2027 will go up on the WAAS website in early November. Keep an eye out so you can begin planning.
Registrations open 4 January 2027.
This will be my first time at WAAS and I’m very excited to have this opportunity.
Artist's Books ~ Exploring & Expanding 0n Possibilities
In my workshop, we will begin by creating a variety of conventional book-like structures with lots of opportunities for expanding and developing your ideas and skills further. We will then create a selection of folded, 3D structures that will allow for further freedom of expression and also expand your ideas of what an artist’s book could possibly be.
We will cover many basic book making and paper skills to develop a solid foundation of knowledge plus I’ll share many of my tips and tricks learnt first-hand over the years.
The focus for the week is on play and experimentation, to generate a wide range of ideas, to build confidence and to use as starting points for future work.
This course is suited for all abilities and artistic backgrounds with simple tasks that develop basic skills and understanding, through to more complex structures, and plenty of opportunities for extension whenever you’re ready for an extra challenge!
